they will do to society.

WITH THE HEART

It is with the heart that one sees rightly,
what is essential is invisible to the eye.

EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE

Emotional Intelligence: To be angry with the right person,
to the right degree, at the right time,
for the right purpose, and in the right way.

you are experienced, you are unemployed

CHILDREN IMPROVE

If you want your children to improve,
let them overhear the nice things you say about them to others.

LUCKY OR BLESSED PARENTS

If your children spend most of their time in other people's houses, you're lucky;
If they all congregate at your house, you're blessed!

PARENTS SIT DOWN

The quickest way for a parent to get a child's attention
is to sit down and look comfortable.

IF I HAD MY CHILDREN TO RAISE OVER AGAIN

If I Had My Child to Raise Over Again

by Diane Loomans

If I had my child to raise all over again,
I'd build self esteem first, and the house later.
I'd fingerpaint more, and point the finger less.
I would do less correcting and more connecting.
I'd take my eyes off my watch, and watch with my eyes.
I would care to know less and know to care more.
I'd take more hikes and fly more kites.
I'd stop playing serious, and seriously play.
I would run through more fields and gaze at more stars.
I'd do more hugging and less tugging.
I'd see the oak tree in the acorn more often.
I would be firm less often, and affirm much more.
I'd model less about the love of power,
And more about the power of love.

MONSTER

A parent who has never apologized to the children is a monster.
If a parent is always apologizing, the children are monsters!

FORGIVE ME WHEN I WHINE

My Mom used to read this poem to me when
I used to complain and whine.
It always made me think and stop whining!!!

The World Is Mine
Oh God, Forgive Me When I Whine

Today, upon a bus, I saw a girl with golden hair.
I envied her, she seemed so gay, and wished I was as fair.
When suddenly she rose to leave, I saw her hobbled down the aisle.
She had one leg and wore a crutch.
And as she passed... a smile.

Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 legs, the world is mine

I stopped to buy some candy. The lad who sold it had such charm.
I talked with him, he seemed so glad.
If I were late, it'd do no harm.
And as I left, he said to me, "I thank you, you've been so kind.
It's nice to talk with folks like you. You see," he said, "I'm blind."

Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 eyes, the world is mine.

Later while walking down the street,
I saw a child with eyes of blue.
He stood and watched the others play.
He did not know what to do.
I stopped a moment and then I said,
"Why don't you join the others, dear?"
He looked ahead without a word. And then I knew,
he couldn't hear.

Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I have 2 ears, the world is mine.
With feet to take me where I'd go.
With eyes to see the sunset's glow.
With ears to hear what I'd know.

Oh God, forgive me when I whine.
I've been blessed indeed, the world is mine........

RAINBOW BRIDGE

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

CHILD IS MOMENTOUS

Making a decision to have a child is momentous.
It is to decide forever to have your heart go
walking around outside your body.

OPEN MINDED

When my children think that I am not being open minded,
I just say to them,"I used to be open mined but then my brains fell out."

To realize
The value of a sister/brother

Who doesn't have one.

The value of ten years:
Ask a newly
Divorced couple.

The value of four years:
Ask a graduate.
To realize
The value of one year:
Ask a student who
Has failed a final exam.

The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

To realize
The value of one month:
Ask a mother
Who has given birth to
A premature baby.

To realize
The value of one week:

Ask a person
Who has missed the train, bus or plane.

To realize
The value of one second:
Ask a person
Who has survived an accident.

Time waits for no one.

Treasure every moment you have.

You will treasure it even more when
You can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family
member:

LOSE ONE.

The origin of this letter is unknown,
But it brings good luck to everyone who
passes it on.

Remember....

Hold on tight to the ones you love!

PARENTS AND CHILDREN

Most of us become parents long before
we have stopped being children.
